是由原料花生的既定尺寸设置出的标准尺寸;
是制造受热顺序规律的烹饪适用尺寸;
是从筷子夹起、张口、入口的食用通道尺寸;

Kungpao Installation
Through the lens of scale relationships found within a single plate of Kung Pao Chicken, this work employs a fictional approach to explore how this most widely consumed of Chinese dishes serves to interconnect human beings with the world around them.
The ingredients—diced chicken, scallion segments, chili peppers, and the like—share an almost identical size:
It is a standard size established by the predetermined dimensions of one of its raw components: the peanut;
It is a size optimized for cooking, facilitating a consistent and predictable sequence of heat absorption;
It is a size calibrated to the physical passage of consumption—from being grasped by chopsticks, through the opening of the mouth, to its entry into the oral cavity;
And finally, it is a size designed to generate the specific gustatory pleasure derived from the combined action of teeth and tongue during mastication.
The exhibition space is situated within a lateral mezzanine of the underground gallery; it measures 0.9 meters in width, 9 meters in length, and 2 meters in height. The ceiling features a continuous skylight, establishing a visual link with the main gallery space below through three large window apertures.
We have lined both the ceiling and the floor with layers of plastic bubble wrap. Visitors are invited to remove their shoes before entering the space, allowing them to experience the tactile texture of the bubbles directly beneath their bare feet. Three large sheets of aluminum foil form an inclined partition, dividing the narrow, elongated space into two distinct zones—an upper section dedicated to the sculptural installation and a lower section for video projection—while simultaneously serving to block ambient daylight from the projection area.
The diffuse reflectivity of the aluminum foil interplays with the daylight filtered through the bubble wrap, the artificial light spilling in from the side windows, and the shifting chromatic light and shadow cast by the video projection. As visitors navigate the space, their movements engage continuously with the boundaries defined by the foil partition—whether by stooping low to pass beneath the inclined surface or by stepping onto the foil sheets to peer through the gaps between them—as their gaze shifts back and forth between the sculptural installation and the video imagery.
